The Lingering Light
The Lingering Light
Understanding the Golden Glow of Grace
Personal reflections from a fellow traveler. Not AA approved literature. Shared in the spirit of Experience, Strength, and Hope.

Grace is rarely blinding.
More often, it lingers.
Most of the time, I have no knowledge of its presence.
It shows up not in the absence of shadow, but within it. Soft, patient, and unforced.
Long after failure, regret, or loss has had its say, grace remains, glowing where we thought only darkness would live.
We often expect grace to arrive like a rescue.
Instead, it arrives like warmth.
Subtle at first. Always easy to miss.
Over time, that quiet light reveals something important:
Our Higher Power does not wait for us to step fully into the light before drawing near.
His grace meets us where we are, illuminating just enough of the path to keep moving.
The shadows do not disappear.
They simply lose their power.
Grace does not erase the past, it reframes it.
What once felt like condemnation becomes context.
What once felt like distance becomes invitation.
And so, we walk forward, we continue mission. Not because the night has ended,
but because the light still lingers.
Where have you noticed the lingering light in your life?
